A.J. Puk Shining In Spring Training

One of my favorite pitching prospects, A.J. Puk is having an impressive spring. He has added a few pitches to his arsenal and arrived to camp in great shape. He is clearly the best pitcher the A's have and his Bowman auto can still be bought for around $15. It is not too late to invest in a future stud.

  1. Hi, I've been finalizing my final investment list for this upcoming MLB season. I know that you've helped me out before and it really helped me a lot. I've been doing research for days and wanted to run by some prsoects for a second opinion. I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on some of these guys.
    Mountcastle - struggles in AA
Ockimey - worried a bit about athleticism
Zack Collins - any chance of cutting out Ks?
    Blandino - late resurgence?
Trammell- I beleive to be a bit overpriced because he is a speedster whose HR potential is only 15-20 HR
I don't usually invest in high end prospects...but I think Senzel is the real deal
Daz Cameron - new team, new potential
    Lux- don't love his power
Yusizel Diaz - too much Dodger inflation?
James Nelson - enough power to invest?
Monte Harrison - prices too high?
Nick Gordon - enough power to invest?
    Jhoan Urena - worth investing?
Ke'Bryan Hayes - improvement, but no power
    Kevin Newman - ?
    Cole Tucker - ?
Kevin Kramer - under the radar?
    Tatis Jr- worth it?
    Jorge Ona - Power #s?
Josh Naylor - Progression in AA
    Jahmai Jones
    Jake Cave/Mckinney - too old/roadblock to majors?
Dylan Cozens - take a shot?
Cornelius Randolph - any potential there?
Jhailyn Ortiz - how will he fare at higher levels

Sorry for the long list but I would to hear your thoughts on these guys. Look forward to hearing your response. Do you have a card insta? Thanks, Adam

  3. Thanks Adam for the comment. I actually will be on Insta very soon. My thoughts are below.

Mountcastle – Only 22. Let’s see if he can adjust.
Ockimey – Agree. Kind of a 1B/DH only prospect so the bat must be special.
Zack Collins – Small chance. He will always have a high K rate in my opinion.
Blandino – Will probably play in the Majors this year.
Trammell- Yes. The time to buy was after his first season in rookie ball.
Senzel – I agree. I was worried about his power potential but the power usually comes last. He can hit.
Daz Cameron – Seems to be improving and is in a new market.
    Lux - Agree
    Yusizel Diaz - Agree
James Nelson – YES! 31 doubles and 7 HR’s. Needs a Chrome Auto
Monte Harrison – Yes. Window has closed. Prospects like Harrison and Beck you buy low and hold long.
Nick Gordon – I don’t think so. Love him as a prospect but scouts seem to have issues.
Jhoan Urena – Yes. Nice prospect.
Ke'Bryan Hayes – Agree. Not sure if power will develop.
Kevin Newman – Nice prospect but not sure if power will be there.
Cole Tucker – Contact hitter. Maybe a small investment.
    Kevin Kramer - Agree
Tatis Jr- Yes he is worth it but only if you can afford it.
Jorge Ona – Has power and walk rate is good.
Josh Naylor – Keep an eye on him.
    Jahmai Jones – Love him.
Jake Cave/Mckinney – Agree on both.
Dylan Cozens – Maybe only one. K rate is way too high.
Cornelius Randolph – I still think so. Only 20.
Jhailyn Ortiz – K rate will be high but he could easily hit 30 Hr a year.
Solak – Not enough pop for me.
Kacy Clemens – Older but I like the potential. If you buy you hope he will move fast.
Alex Jackson – Worth a shot. I would not invest heavy though.
