Los Angeles Dodgers OF Alex Verdugo - Buy, Sell or Hold

The Los Angeles Dodgers are currently next to last in their division and just optioned Alex Verdugo back down to Triple A after a cup of coffee in the Majors. I understand the move due to Yasiel Puig returning from injury. Verdugo is one of my favorite prospects and has the plus bat you need in a current strikeout or home run league. At this moment I would currently hold his auto's. The market is now flooded with people selling. In my opinion I think he stays with the Dodgers and eventually comes back up to the 40 man roster. I don't believe they would trade him (especially if they are out of the playoff race) but I am watching closely. If you can make a profit by all means sell but I making the bet that he is in the Dodgers future plans.

  1. Thanks for this post. I don't have any Verdugo but these are the type of posts I need the most. My biggest weakness is selling at the right time.

  2. What do you feel is a good price range to buy his 2014 and 2018 stuff at? I would be buying, autos, base 1st bowmans and rookies, serial numbered cards, and any chrome from 2014.

    1. Hello Jacob. Thanks for checking out the site. His base auto is going for around $30-$40. I would try to be on the low end. I don't buy much non auto items but I think at the moment its a buyers market. Right now your either are buying or holding in my opinion. I would go to eBay and search the cards you are looking for. Research the latest sold listings and only look at auctions to get a real feel of the current cost.

  3. Where do you stand with Alex Verdugo now? I know he was out reminder of 19' season due to back injury. Worried he will become injury prone.

  4. Not worried but I love his contact skills and the market he is in so much I will always be a fan. A sneaky breakout candidate. Have not looked at prices lately though.
