Scouting Report:

Grades: Hit: 50. Power: 70. Speed: 50. Defense: 50. Arm: 70.

Soler is your prototypical right fielder - he has a canon for an arm and a ton of power.  After coming over from Cuba, Soler has hit American pitching, and has not stopped at any level.  Soler moved quickly through the minors, and played at 3 different minor league levels PLUS the Major League level last year.  He absolutely tore up the minors in 2014 with a cumulative .340 average and 15 HR in only 200 AB.  After the Cubs called him up, he continued to hit at a .903 OPS clip with 14 extra base hits in 89 MLB at bats.

And Soler is not a liability in the field... he has an incredible arm in right field, and his defense rates as a solid 50.  I wouldn't be surprised if Soler can jack 30 bombs this year with an average that could top .280, and these numbers would probably give Soler the Rookie of the Year title.  Either way, it should be extremely fun to watch the trio of Cubs young talent get acclimated to MLB pitching.  In a few years, Javier Baez, Kris Bryant, and Jorge Soler could very well be named the best 3-4-5 in baseball.
