BUY Brandon Nimmo (Mets, OF) - Top Prospect

Daniel Murphy is probably the hardest working guy in baseball, and to a fault.  As a result, coaches have urged him to cut back on his extended hours in the cage, and pace himself for a long season.

During the Spring, I watched an interview with Murphy that convinced me to seriously consider buying Brandon Nimmo, and it's worked out nicely so far.  In the interview, Murphy said he's been able to basically limit his work in the cage, except for when he watches Brandon Nimmo hit.  I'm paraphrasing, but Murphy said something like it's impossible not to wanna go rake some balls when you see a guy like Nimmo smoking lasers in there.  This is the type of scouting report I listen to.  Similar to when Mets veterans laughed at how good Zack Wheeler was in his first Spring Training two years ago, this was kind of like a sign.  Murphy, a .300 hitter, was basically telling us he was in awe of Nimmo.

Fast forward a couple months, and Nimmo is sitting on a .490 OBP, with a 33:27 BB:K ratio, and 34 runs in 32 games.  He is the leadoff hitter of my future Mets, and he has no flaw in his game.  I'm glad I listened to Murphy.  I think it wise to now listen to me, listening to Murphy... wait that didn't make sense.
