Kevin Plawecki (C, NYM)

As I mentioned 2 weeks ago in my post about 2012 BDPP players who were off to hot starts, Kevin Plawecki intrigued me the most.  I'd just like to reiterate that and post his numbers now that he has 100 AB's under his belt.  This dude just keeps on raking and for some reason his 2012 Bowman Chrome Draft autos still only sell for about $10.

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • 22% of his AT BATS have resulted in an extra base hit
  • He has struck out in only 11% of his plate appearances
  • He failed to reach base in only ONE game so far this year
  • 12 multi-hit games, 7 3-hit games
  • Leads the SAL in H, 2B, HR, RBI, TB, AVG, OBP, SLG
  • 0 Errors, has thrown out 6 potential base stealers
I've read some ridiculous articles that say he's too old for the league which is why he's playing so well.  In response to that, let me list the ages of all of the players on Plawecki's team:
20, 20, 20, 21, 21, 21, 21, 22, 22, 22, 22, 22, 22, 22, 22, 22, 22, 23, 23, 23, 23, 23, 24, 24, 24, 24
Now, when you hear a skeptic say Plawecki is too old for the league, what would you guess his age is?  Well, he just turned 22.  He's the 8th youngest guy on his team of 26 players.
